Services and Amenities

Service and Amenities is often one of the most over looked aspect of event planning which should not be so. To ensure that you as the host does not end up with the caios before and after the event here are things that needs to be put in place.

1. Does the facility have a kitchen: If the answer is no, does the facility have a partner catering company? If they do, then you want to make sure the menu fits into what you're looking for. Remember it's all about the experience. The second question is does the venue have a kitchen? If the answer is yes, can you bring your own licensed caterer? This option is always easier because you will be getting the caterer of your choice. However, if you're limited to the partner catering companies; make sure you do your due diligence by visiting the caterer, tasting the food, deciding on the menu and the presentation, and make sure it's what you're hoping to get on your big day.

2. Does the facility have chairs and tables: Usually most venues have chairs and tables but the question is do they have the tables and chairs that you want? Would you need chair covers, in addition to table covers? Both of these are additional expense to consider. If the chairs are not what you want, have you researched a company who can deliver the chairs to your venue? Have you considered the extra cost it will add to the existing budget? In the same manner will the chairs be arranged once delivered or would you have to assign that task to someone else. Same applies to the chair and table covers. Will it be arranged or does it have to be assigned. Make sure this aspect is well discussed before signing the contract.

3. Does the facility have AV capabilities: AV capabilities include microphones, video and audio, projectors etc. Most facilities have built in audio visual equipment but some may require you to bring your own. Make sure you have this figured out. Keep your DJ or band in mind.

4. Does the facility have a clean up crew: Most venue does not offer clean up crew and some can make their staffs available for a price. If this option comes with the plan; be thankful. If not you need to decide who will clean up for you and the price that may come with it. This also applies to the table and chairs, the covers, the catering company if it's an additional service from a different company.

Think about the before and the after. You would not want to have an amazing event only to be stuck cleaning up right after.

Cheers!
